are an introduction to Body Control Pilates for new clients and cover all the basic principles of Pilates including alignment, breathing, core stability and natural movement patterns. These classes and workshops are also suitable for those with specific issues, for example osteoporosis, recovering from injury or operations, those advised to take up remedial exercise or those wishing to refresh their knowledge after a period of absence. New clients unable to attend beginner classes are required to attend at least one private assessment, prior to joining intermediate classes.
Pilates Matwork Group Classes
Pilates exercises have a natural progression which makes them ideal for all levels of fitness and the small numbers in the classes ensure that all clients are given individual attention and can progress at their own pace. Classes concentrate on natural alignment and stability with exercises, both freestanding and mat-based to create strength and flexibility. All equipment including mats, is provided by Taw Valley Pilates. Clothing should be comfortable and non-restrictive. Group classes have a maximum of 10 - 12 clients, are one hour in length and run weekly. Courses are run during school term times, so can be between five and eight weeks long. Classes are payable in advance for the full course. Our policy is that refunds are not given for missed classes, however numbers permitting and with notice, you are welcome to make this up at another time on the same course. Clients are asked to pay at the end of each group of classes to keep their place on the following course.
