“Lauren, I would like to record my personal thanks to you for the Pilates classes that you teach, as I feel it has been such a help to improve my core strength and flexibility. Having recently completed the Coast to Coast walk of nearly 200 miles I can confirm that my improved core strength helped me with the steep ascents and descents in particular, and also assisted my confidence in undertaking some challenging terrain. Unfortunately it did not stop us from getting very wet on 4 days of the walk but I can’t have everything!”
Pauline Down, North Devon. June 2017.
“Lauren started teaching us Pilates many years ago, when we were both beginners and on the wrong side of 50. She is a wonderful teacher, having both patience, an ability to encourage us to challenge ourselves without ever risking injury and an extensive knowledge of both Pilates and the human body. As well as improved strength, balance and the ability to put my socks on without sitting down, I no longer have a chronic bad back from years of gardening and my husband has seen great improvement in flexion after his knee and elbow replacements. I would encourage anybody, young or old, to take up Pilates with Lauren.”
Sally Hopkinson, Landscape Gardener. January 2015.
"I have been attending Lauren's classes for 10 years, starting as a complete novice and working up to more advanced exercises. She has proven knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and makes Pilates thoroughly enjoyable whilst at the same time ensuring there is plenty to challenge and work towards. I have noticed significant improvements in muscle tone, mobility, posture and flexibility. Lauren's expertise is particularly apparent in modifying activities according to individual's needs particularly when there are past or current injuries and I regularly recommend Pilates to my patients with back problems."
Dr Katharine King, Rother House Medical Centre, Stratford-upon-Avon. July 2010.
“Lauren Bannister offers excellent tuition in pilates always delivering with utmost professionalism as well as an encouraging smile. Lauren has developed an extensive experience & knowledge of pilates both in matwork & with equipment. Her depth of understanding of functional anatomy and body movement patterns is excellent and as a physiotherapist I have no hesitation in referring patients to Lauren as well as attending class myself”.
Kate Aitchison MCSP SRP, State Chartered Physiotherapist, Susan England Physiotherapy Clinic, Stratford-upon-Avon. June 2010.
“Lauren worked at the RSC in the past year taking Pilates sessions with a mixed group of people drawn from the acting and general RSC company. Everyone enjoyed her classes immensely and we very much appreciated her professional and thorough approach to the work. Always reliable, always a pleasure to work with - I can thoroughly recommend Lauren's classes to anyone from beginners to those with more experience.”
Jane Hazell, Voice Department, Royal Shakespeare Company, Stratford-upon-Avon. 10th May 2007.
In 2007 & 2008, Lauren was invited to lecture on “relieving back pain in the workplace” by Compton Verney, Warwickshire at their Induction Weeks. She introduced sitting and standing Pilates principles, with emphasis on posture whilst in a working environment. “ .........to say thank you and to tell you that the feedback was really positive......thanks once again for the training".
Claudia Hughes, Human Resources. Compton Verney. 2007.
"This is the best Pilates course I have ever attended. Lauren is highly qualified, always informative and makes sure we are doing the exercises safely and appropriately. I began a year after a very bad car accident. My injuries were mostly internal and severe. A lot of tearing and repair work. I could not sit up, lift my legs or raise my right arm above my shoulder. It's all gone with regular Pilates sessions. Really quite wonderful".
